Specsavers is a leading optical retailer with a reputation for professionalism and precision. In 2024, DDS was commissioned to carry out a high-quality store refurbishment at the Ashford branch, ensuring the space reflected the brand’s exacting standards and distinctive visual identity.

The Challenge

Our Approach
1. Meticulous Preparation
We began with full wall preparation, including taping and jointing to achieve a perfectly smooth surface. This was followed by thorough sanding, with mechanical dust extraction used to minimise airborne dust and maintain a clean working environment.
2. Spray-Applied Mist Coat
An advanced spray technique was used to apply the mist coat, creating a uniform base that optimised adhesion and coverage for the final coatings.
3. Premium Coating Application
Two coats of Dulux Scuff Shield were applied to all main wall areas. This commercial-grade, high-durability coating offers exceptional resistance to scuffs and marks, ideal for a busy retail setting.
4. Brand-Specific Feature Walls
To reinforce Specsavers’ visual identity, the feature walls were finished in the brand’s signature green, adding a bold and distinctive focal point to the store interior.
5. Woodwork Finishing
All woodwork was primed and then coated with Dulux Diamond Satinwood, chosen for its refined satin finish, high durability, and ease of maintenance.
